As novas rainhas já estão cultivado o fungo. Vamos ter esperança de que colocarão ovos!

The new queens are cultivated fungus already . Let's hope that they'll lay eggs!

Problema - Trouble

E não é que aconteceu mais um problema? Injetei um pouco de água no frasco da colônia, para ajudar a intensificar a umidade no ar, mas as formigas não gostaram e mudaram a cultura de fungo para dentro da mangueira. 

And happened another trouble. I injected a little water in the bottle of the colony, to help increase the moisture in the air, but the ants did not like it and moved the cultivation of the fungus into the hose.

Finalmente! - Finally!

Finamente a cultura de fungo estabilizou, aparentemente! Usei muito fungo de outras rainhas pra ir dando manutenção à cultura desta minha colônia, se não fosse esta ajuda com certeza teria dado tudo errado. Mas estou torcendo para que não aconteçam mais nenhuma reviravolta.

Finely the fungus culture stabilized, apparently! I used a lot of other queens fungus to maintain  the culture of my colony, if it was not for this assistance would certainly have given it all wrong. But I'm hoping that does not happen any more upheaval.

Mais fungo - More fungus

Peguei uma quantidade de fungo de uma outra rainha e acrescentei a esta que já está com operárias. Devo repetir isso mais algumas vezes, pra ver se elas enchem a caixa rápido e se mudam logo para fora com parte do fungo começando a cultura no pote exterior.

I took a quantity of fungus from another queen and added to this one with workers already. I'll repeat this a few more times to see if they fill the box faster and move out  with the yeast of the fungus cultivation in the pot outside.

Novidades - News

O cultivo do fungo está de vento em popa e as formigas estão coletando as folhas e pétalas como era de se esperar. Logo concluo que tudo está indo muito bem.

The fungus cultivation is growing from strength to strength and the ants are collecting the leaves and petals as was expected. So I conclude that everything is going well.

Minha colônia - My colony

Coloquei a minha pequena colônia dentro do pote de acrílico. Cortei a caixa e coloquei um chumaço de papel toalha molhado para prover umidade.

I'd put my small colony into the acrylic pot. I'd cut the box and put a wad of wet paper to provide moisture.

No entanto não foi o suficiente e o fungo começou a morrer. Cada pedacinho escuro que vemos na foto é um pedaço de fungo morto. Assim coloquei um chumaço maior de papel molhado e um quantidade de água numa vasilha.

However it was not enough and the fungus began to die. Every dark bit that we see in the photo is a piece of dead fungus. So I'd put a largest wet paper wad and a quantity of water in a little vase.

As formigas terminaram levando os ovos, as larvas e pedaços do fungo para atrás do chumaço grande de papel molhado.

The ants ended up taking the eggs, larvae and pieces of  fungus to behind the big wad of wet paper.

Assim desisti! Tirei a colônia inteira e coloquei dentro da caixa onde uma rainha tinha morrido, deixando uma quantidade interessante de fungo.

So I gave up! I took the entire colony and placed inside the box where a queen had died, leaving an interesting amount of fungus.

As formigas se sentiram muito bem, e mudaram os ovos e larvas para dentro do fungo .

The ants felt very well, and moved the eggs and larvae into the fungus.

I hope it works.

Coloquei a caixa inteira dentro do pote de acrílico depois de lavado. Mantive o chumaço de papel molhado na entrada da caixa. Vamos ver se elas mudam o fungo pra fora de forma natural.

I'd put the whole box into the acrylic pot after to wash it. I kept the wad of wet paper in the box entrance. Let's see if they moves the fungus out, naturally.

Morreu uma rainha - One queen is dead

Uma rainha morreu. Ela vinha trabalhando numa cultura de fungo já bem desenvolvida. Peguei uma rainha que estava num dos tubos, que tinha uma bola de fungo de uns 3 mm, depois de todo este tempo, e coloquei   ela pra cuidar da cultura da rainha morta. Ela começou o trabalho imediatamente! ;)

One queen died. This queen had been working on a fungus cultivation well developed already . I got a queen who was one of the tubes, which had a small fungus ball about 3 mm, after all this time; and I'd put her to take care of the dead queen cultivation. It began work immediately! ;)
