Rainhas produzidas em cativeiro - Queens produced in captivity

Foto de uma princesa da minha antiga colônia, que migrou para um vaso de minha varanda. Olhe aí um exemplo das rainhas que estão sendo produzidas em cativeiro, evitando a coleta. Esta estava passeando pela borda do vaso, logo acima da entrada da colônia na terra do vaso.

A rainha de acromyrmex não tinha 3 segundos dentro do pote, e prontamente começou o cultivo do fungo. E já que a opção de vídeo daqui do blog foi eliminada postei no youtube!

Capturei uma acromyrmex minúscula em relação ao tamanho das outras rainhas. Percebam o tamanho dela em relação ao tamanho da caixa de tic tac. Achei superinteressante... Vou manter!

Vejam quem estava rondando a parede bem acima do vaso onde está o ninho das acromyrmex! É um mundo selvagem lá fora e elas não sabiam! Ehehehehehehe! As lagartixas estavam bem interessadas nelas... Entraram para a lista do cardápio.

Continuo alimentando as meninas. Ainda que estejam no vaso, elas permanecem voltando à caixa de forragem. Coloquei um pedaço de pão de milho e pétalas de rosa e elas fizeram a festa!

Simbiose - Symbiosis

É impressionante a simbiose entre as formigas e o fungo. 2 dias antes apenas um terço do fungo foi carregado para a nova colônia, é possível ver a cultura de fungo abandonada no frasco. Dois dias depois, sem a manutenção das formigas, a cultura virou uma lama de amônia.

A camada de vaselina não segurou as formigas, elas passaram e migraram para o vaso de um papiro que tenho na varanda!

As princesas começam em grupos a migrar para o vaso, onde as operárias já começaram a cavar o seu novo lar.

Coloquei um pouco de pétalas de rosas para que na mudança elas já levassem comida!

Não achei ruim a mudança das formigas; muito pelo contrário, achei muito bom, porque agora posso garantir que as princesas e os machos vão revoar possibilitando a coleta de rainhaaaaaaas! ehehehe... E se elas mudaram é porque a situação no formicário estava horrível, agora elas estão bem. Além do mais aprendi que é possível devolver uma colônia à natureza sem maiores problemas. Estou na verdade excitado com a possibilidade de começar um outro formicário do zero, com as adaptações necessárias percebidas com o desenvolvimento deste. O designer não dorme nunca - ehehehehehe!

I didn't thought the ants moving to the pot as a bad thing, on the contrary, thought it very good, because now I can guarantee that the princesses and the male will fly allowing the collectt os very much queens! ehehehe ...
